How do I create a school? How do I set up payment?

You can set up your own yoga school in minutes and have your own payment system in a few easy steps...

1. To get started, first sign up for a free The Yoga Site account or log in to your existing account and go to the Create > A School button (you can create as many schools as you like).

2. Create your school page by adding your info/images/location to the fields, then click Next.

3. On your school calendar page click on the time slots and fill out your class times and details in the dialogue box, press Save after each class is entered. Once all classes have been scheduled go to the bottom of your calendar and press Save & Publish.

4. Your school is now ready to be searchable and reviewed on the front end - you can always decide at any time to hide your school from the public view

5. Optional Payment System: you can easily choose to take payments online. Go to Your Account in the dropdown, e.g. Hi Sarah > Your Account. If you don't already have a PayPal account, go to www.paypal.com (externally to The Yoga Site) to quickly set one up.

6. Return to Your Account page on The Yoga Site, fill out the fields with your PayPal account details. Make sure you enter the email address correctly, as this is how you'll receive money from your students. Remember to save as you go. You are now set up to receive credit/debit card payments from your class bookings on The Yoga Site.

Your school is now open for business!

Tell me about transaction fees?

The Yoga Site receive a transaction fee of 9% that will be deducted from each class booking. The transaction fee is for our payment for transactions costs on PayPal and website services.

Three days after the completion of a booking, we will automatically initiate payment for your share of the booking directly to your PayPal account. Please allow 1-2 business days after then for the transfer of the funds.

In order to receive these funds, you'll need to have your own personal PayPal account, which you will have to set up independently on paypal.com. We will not have access to your PayPal account information.

Who sets the price of my classes & tell me more about the transaction fees?

You set the price of your yoga classes.

You should consider several factors to set the right price for your classes. For example, the demand of your classes, whether you have a special teacher attending and whether it has special attributes, like there's a juicing class accompanying it.

You should also consider the transaction fee. We charge a 9% transaction fee on each class booking. This will be deducted for our payment of transactions costs and website services. You can even choose whether to absorb these fees, pass them on to your students or split the fees and all fees are returned if orders are refunded. You can choose not to pay any fees.

For example, if a class is €15, and a transaction fee of 9% is applied, the final price is €16.35 (student is paying the transaction fee in this scenario) however you could choose to absorb the transaction fee, in this case you would enter a final price of €15 and the transaction fee would be paid within the €15.

What happens if I cancel my class?

Sometimes, you may need to cancel a class, this can be done up to 2 hours before the class starts via the edit class dialogue box on your school calendar.

Note: All students will receive notification and full refund. You will not be charged anything at all. Students on the other hand can cancel their bookings up to 6 hours before class time receiving a full refund. Again, you will not be charged anything at all.

Could you tell me more about this free calendar you offer?

When you create a school on The Yoga Site you get scheduling, booking and management system as standard for free. But what if you're a teacher who has their own personal website too? To help you still be part of The Yoga Site and the yoga school network, while still running your own personal website, we have a solution. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

Must I have personal insurance to run a yoga school?

For Students

When do I pay for a class?

You pay for a class when you go through the booking process.

How long does booking take?

The booking process is usually easy and quick. When you book a class, you choose a mat (this is just a feature, we have no control over where you'll put your mat in class) we then ask for your payment information. We recommend to book 'As a Guest' on PayPal if you want to use your credit cards rather than your PayPal account, (you will be given this option). In most cases, it takes seconds, so you'll be on your way to attending your yoga class in a few short minutes.

Can I cancel my Booking?

Yes, you can  cancel your booking up to 6 hours before class time and you will receive a full refund with 2 business days from the class end date/time.

Note: The Yoga Site can't issue refunds on behalf of the teachers/schools, our goal is that teacher and student resolve any refund issues on their own.
