Mum & baby yoga
Mum & baby yoga is time for new mothers and dads to be supported in mind and body recovery from birth. The classes allow slowing down in a safe and supportive environment. The first two weeks involve time to hear birth stories and reclaim your post-natal body and some gentle excerises for the babies, week three and four involve baby massage. Week five and six focus on your pelvic floor and strengthening the back and stomach . The post-natal period can be lonely and difficult for some and getting out to a group to meet others in similar situations can be a great support. Overall it is a fun class with a relaxed atmosphere.
The classes are open to new mothers and fathers , with or without yoga experience, bottle or breast fed babies. Classes can be started once you and baby have had your six week check up.The class is run on a six week basis but you can do a drop in if you are going to miss a number of classes.
Bring what you would bring with you if going to meet friends for lunch with baby in tow. If you are bringing a buggy just be aware there is are stairs but someone can assist you. You don’t need to bring a mat we will supply one for this class.
6wk class-pack €90. Drop-in available too. Classes are flexible so feel welcome to join at any time, at any stage of your pregnancy.
Hatha Yoga is a slightly slower paced stretching class with simple breathing exercises and some meditation. This class is great for beginners and for those of us trapped at a desk all day who need a nice slow stretch for their muscles.
Hatha means “Union”, and the intention of this class is to unify your mind and body. A good way to thing about yoga is a moving meditation. With this in mind, think about how moving and co-ordinating your breath will help to calm and still your mind. Whilst repairing and strengthening your body.
